SUSTAINABLE LIFECYCLE MONITORING SOLUTIONS FOR OFFSHORE ENERGY

Zero emission, quiet, and capable of anywhere anytime operations, our solar powered uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs) - Data Xplorer™ - provide safe, affordable, and sustainable ocean monitoring solutions.

OFFERING SERVICES IN

MARINE MAMMAL MONITORING

Our extremely quiet USV can detect, identify, and locate marine mammals using cameras and passive acoustics.

ASSET SECURITY

With thermal and 360-degree optical cameras, and an AIS detector, our USV provides continuous 24/7 monitoring. Constant real-time alerts along with multiple operational modes including loiter, patrol, or track offers a reliable and adaptable way to monitor offshore assets.

HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYING

Our USV is designed to carry a multibeam sonar and has the processing and precise positioning needed for high quality hydrographic mapping.

ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING

With atmospheric and oceanographic sensors, we can monitor everything from wind speeds to weather currents to oil spills. Our USV can patrol in shallow waters or offshore and endure the extreme sea states encountered in stormy or high wind environments.

Cost-effective, scalable, reconfigurable, and carbon-neutral observation platforms that may be deployed from shore or ship

OOR Selected to Participate in the Offshore Wind Challenge

All aspects of data logging, transmission, and processing related to marine mammal detection are crucial for responsible offshore wind development. From project siting to long-term maintenance, responsible offshore wind development and operation requires access to the best available science and data collected from field efforts during site assessment and construction, and operations and maintenance to achieve minimal impacts to North Atlantic Right Whales and other protected species.

Greentown Labs, the largest climatetech startup incubator in North America, and Vineyard Wind, developer of the first utility-scale offshore wind energy generation facility in the United States, selected three startups for the Offshore Wind Challenge. The startups focused on innovations in marine mammal monitoring through data collection, real-time transmission, and analysis.

Open Ocean Robotics was honoured to be one of the 3 startups selected from a group of over 60 global applicants to participate.
